Clemens Spiess studied political science and ethnology at Heidelberg University. Afterwards he worked as researcher at the University’s South Asia Institute, earning his doctorate in 2004 with a thesis on the Indian party system. From 2004 until 2007 he headed the Indian office of Heinrich Böll Foundation in New Delhi. From 2007 to 2010 he worked as a lecturer in the Department of Political Science at the South Asia Institute of Heidelberg University, and then managed the Nepal office of AWO International e.V.’s South Asia programme based in Kathmandu. Currently he works as Senior Project Manager International Relations America and Asia at Robert Bosch Stiftung.
